Time: Kalief Browder Story is an American documentary film that tells the story of a Bronx schoolboy who was accused of stealing a backpack and imprisoned for three years at the age of 16. He spent almost two years in solitary confinement on Rikers Island without a conviction for an offense. Two years after his release, the youngster committed suicide. Those ones being close to Browder regard this matter as a result of mental and physical violence in prison. His case was quoted by activists who call for the reform of the criminal justice system in New York. After his death, the story of Kalief attracted much attention and became a wide known not because a reputable entertainment company represented it, but because it is a story that deserves attention.
